100% painted
Ok I’v finally done it….found the camera cable to upload the final models
So what do I think, I think that anyone can be a good painter I don’t rate myself as a good painter but I do rate myself as a patient one. If you have enough patients and the right color scheme your models will look great. So for any new or even older players just relax take that extra couple of days on a model just to get it right. I tend to have done all my models pretty individually (largest batch I have painted was probably in sets of three) but I don’t mix my paints so don’t need to worry about the right blend come the next model. How does everyone else paint there armies

So now that I’v it all painted I’v just got to get more stuff. Thinking of getting more models so to develop the Emadrak tiered list; more fenblades and the troll cavalry but if people any advise feel free to guide.
Next step 35 points…

Current ramblings
OK so I’m now in to my double figures of games probably about 20 ish now.
Highlight so far would be winning the traitor tourney thanks to the Skorne war caster Tyrant Xerxis.
Basically selected as it was the closest thing to my own war caster that I could find. Hard hitting, survivable and an infantry support caster. He’s probably a better support caster than eMadrak but Xerxis never had tough troops before. To be honest I probably won the tourney more down to time; the infantry spam and tough troops allowed me to survive the timed games and take out a jack or solo to win on VP. Definitely some matches I was just lucky I managed to survive the time.
Biggest problem I found were the pieces that specifically hit my abilities. i.e. the Satyxis Blood Hag with the Entropic Force ability preventing my tough rolls (cheers Michael) and Absylonia, Terror of Everblight with the blight field spell hitting my mauler on an objective point repetitively (cheers Saul). If I sound spiteful that because I am :p
My 25 point army was :
- Tyrant Xerxis (-5)
- Mauler (+9)
- Runebearer (+2)
- Fenblades (max) (+8)
- Pygs Burrowers (+6)
- Fell Callers (+3)
PS Thanks again to Munkee and Kyle for the tourney.
Still making mistakes, forgetting to rile beasts up and need to get my judgement of 9” down right. Noticed I tend to play aggressive one game and too passive the next especially after a lose. On the up I think I’m getting order of activation down which is a must for a buff based army. Any advise from the more experienced war gamers is always welcome.

Painting wise I have just got 3 more models to complete (before I will just have to get more:p). Finally finished the Pyg Burrowers after something like one and a half months :s (maybe the slowest painter ever). Must say though the burrowers are just hated by everyone
Best pop has been so far popping up the max 5” so to get a charge lane to a jack who thought he was safe behind the woods… one dead Cryx Jack. Are they the most annoying infantry out there? Think the Iron fleshed Kayazay Assassins are more annoying but thats just me?
Hope to have another update soon.

Ok so what have we missed
Played three games properly now, what have I learnt
- Always transfer damage from your caster where possible
- Even if you look like you are in a solid position to win…an assassination could be a move away…stupid grayle
- tough rolls….don’t relay on them, though two successful rolls against an assassination from the butcher was fantastic
- revenge strikes are great
- be more aggressive
I’v also got my KR multi case, (http://www.krmulticase.com/) saves you a lot of money but infantry heavy will struggle with their suggested set-ups, as i’v already filled one and a third of my two infantry trays.
Struggled to get painting but here what I’v produced anyway

So that 50% roughly painted up

First Troll
So it finally arrived the trollblood base paint
So I can finally say I have a painted model.
Note to self learn to paint quicker.
He’s pretty much finished just teasing with the idea of some frock on the base as a touch up.
Its all dry brushed really with the exception of the P3 metal wash and the tartan which takes the longest (surprise). I’m also using a mix of GW and P3 paint. I know some people don’t like mixing the two sources.

First Troll (WIP)
I’m trying for desert themed basing using modelling clay than sets in your oven. If anyone’s interested the tutorial I used was from
http://xenite.wordpress.com/modeling-painting-and-hobby-articles/making-scenic-bases-for-miniatures/
So he’s waiting on his skin to be done as no one seems to have trollblood base…. so he waits
Should be here within a week or two.
Feel free to advise as it’s my first in some time. I know the gold could do with them highlighting but anything else is great help

So I have no experience with warmachine and hordes, so lets start a blog about it
As most other blogs are done by individuals with much war gaming experience I thought I’d be different and be the noob.
I’ve decided to start hordes army of trollbloods, why? I survived a year with ogre kingdom (GW) and wanted to get back into modelling again. But GW seem to be pushing more and more for bigger and bigger games which put me off as a starting player and the staff can be a little bit too friendly.
So trollblood was similar to ogre kingdom and with tough rolls seemed to be a bit more forgiving for errors and noob like decisions.
So I’ve had a couple of learning games around 15 points , the system itself seems simple enough. Kill the king, screw the pawns (making my mauler a queen?). Though the second game showed how tactical the system can be as some models will just destroy your army, immune to normal attacks is just not fun.
Wish me luck.
